Discover road cycling with the Trek Domane AL 2 4th generation, a versatile and comfortable model designed for first sports rides, long tours and daily commutes. Its 100 Series Alpha Aluminium frame and full carbon fork offer an excellent balance of stiffness, stability and vibration filtering. The Shimano Claris 2x8-speed drivetrain allows you to adapt to hilly courses, while the 32 mm tyres improve comfort and grip. The numerous mounts also allow for the installation of mudguards and accessories.
The Trek Domane AL 2 4th generation is aimed at cyclists who want to discover road cycling with a comfortable, reliable and easy-to-handle bike. It is suitable for regular training, group rides, long rides and daily commutes.
Its Endurance geometry favours a less demanding position than that of a competition bike. The cyclist maintains an efficient posture while reducing the strain on the back, shoulders and neck.
The Gloss Supernova colourway adopts a light, shiny shade with slightly warm undertones. It is complemented by high-contrast black Trek markings that highlight the frame's lines.
This bright finish gives the Domane a modern, high-end aesthetic, while highlighting the sculpted shape of the head tube and down tube.
The 100 Series Alpha Aluminium frame combines strength, stiffness and weight control. Its tapered head tube contributes to steering precision while internal cable routing maintains a clean aesthetic.
The frame uses a UDH universal derailleur hanger and a 12x142 mm rear thru-axle. These modern standards increase the overall stiffness and make it easier to replace certain parts.
The Domane AL fork is made of carbon and has a tapered carbon steerer. It helps to absorb some of the vibrations transmitted by uneven roads to improve comfort over long distances.
It has internal brake hose routing, mudguard mounts and a 12x100 mm thru-axle. This design provides more precision on descents and changes of direction.
The drivetrain is based on Shimano Claris R2000 levers and derailleurs. Its reliable and intuitive operation is perfect for both beginner and regular cyclists.
The 50/34-tooth compact crankset is paired with an 11-32 tooth Shimano HG31 cassette. The 16 available combinations allow you to maintain a suitable gear for fast sections, false flats and climbs.
The Tektro mechanical disc brakes use dual-piston calipers. They offer consistent and reassuring braking, especially when the road is wet or when rides include long descents.
160 mm Tektro Wave discs are fitted to both the front and rear. The mechanical operation simplifies maintenance and adjustments compared to a hydraulic system.
The Bontrager Paradigm 23 rims benefit from a 24-hole construction and a 23 mm internal width. Their Tubeless Ready design allows for a future tubeless setup with compatible accessories.
The Formula hubs and thru-axles provide good wheel stability. The rear freehub body is compatible with Shimano cassettes up to 11 speeds, which facilitates a possible drivetrain upgrade.
The Bontrager Kwaremont Comp 700x32 mm tyres offer more volume and comfort than narrow road tyres. Their 60 TPI casing and Hard-Case Lite protection help to limit the risk of punctures.
This width also improves grip and allows the Domane to occasionally ride on greenways or stabilised paths, while maintaining good efficiency on asphalt.
The handlebar width, stem length and seatpost length vary according to the frame size. Each cyclist thus benefits from a position and handling consistent with their body shape.
The Verse Short Comp saddle has a short shape that makes it easy to change position. The Trek Gel Cork handlebar tape helps to filter vibrations and improve hand comfort.
The mounts for mudguards and accessories enhance the versatility of the Domane AL 2. It can be configured for winter rides, commuting or light touring.
The total authorised weight limit is 125 kg. This value includes the bike, the cyclist, luggage and installed accessories.
| Frame size | Rider height | Inseam |

| 44 | 150 to 153 cm | 71 to 73 cm |
| 49 | 156 to 163 cm | 74 to 77 cm |
| 52 | 163 to 168 cm | 76 to 79 cm |
| 54 | 168 to 174 cm | 78 to 82 cm |
| 56 | 174 to 180 cm | 81 to 85 cm |
| 58 | 180 to 185 cm | 84 to 87 cm |
| 61 | 185 to 191 cm | 86 to 90 cm |
The Trek chart does not cover some intermediate ranges, particularly between 153 and 156 cm. Inseam length, flexibility and desired position should also be taken into account. If in doubt, a test ride or a postural study is recommended.
The Trek Domane AL 2 4th generation is an excellent gateway to road cycling. We appreciate its comfortable position, its carbon fork and its 32 mm tyres, which make it reassuring on imperfect roads. The Claris drivetrain remains simple but reliable and the numerous mounts enhance its versatility. A relevant choice for beginners, those getting back into cycling or for an upgradeable everyday bike.
