<p>With 80 sport modes pre-installed by default, the Spartan is ready to use for virtually any kind of activity.</p>
<p>The Spartan provides sport-specific metrics and displays them in detail during training for select sports like running, cycling, swimming, triathlon, and various sports like hiking and skiing . Carefully crafted, sport-specific displays give you accurate and relevant information for your sport.</p>
<p>For the most commonly practiced sports like running and cycling, specific sport modes such as split running, obstacle course competitions and treadmill running are also available. With interval running for example, you can view your latest interval times along with your average heart rate in the lap chart display even as you run.</p>
<p>The Spartan, for example, precisely measures your pace, speed, distance covered, altitude, heart rate (heart rate monitor required) and calories consumed and supports power and running cadence on foot as well as power and cycling cadence (external power sensors or bike-pods required). Naturally, Suunto Spartan has specific functions for swimming such as swimming cadence, number of strokes and SWOLF.</ p>
<p>Training analytics on the watch and on Movescount allow you to track your training load, rest and recovery times and progress and help you plan your next workout. The watch monitors your activity 24/7, providing you with daily and weekly activity summaries as well as a history of your workouts.</p>
<p>To allow you to follow your progress, your watch informs you of your personal bests for each sport. These records can be based on duration, altitude or even cycling power – for example your best running time over 5 km or your highest cycling power over 20 minutes.</p>
<p>Movescount offers you a comprehensive set of tools and analytics to give you deeper insights into your training load, progress, and rest and recovery times or to enable you to create training programs. training (training programs will be downloadable to watches in fall 2016).
