ENVE Paire de Roues M5 PRO 29” 24H XD

The ENVE M5 Pro 29” 24H XD is one of the American brand's most advanced solutions for Cross-Country and XC competition mountain biking. The result of over four years of development in collaboration with professional athletes, it was designed around three priorities: reducing weight, optimising power transfer, and maintaining enough robustness to tackle modern XC courses.

With a claimed weight of just 1,325g per pair, including rim tape and valves, the M5 Pro promotes acceleration and changes of pace. ENVE also adopts a different construction for the front and rear wheels to adapt their behaviour to the specific constraints of each position.

The front rim has an internal width of 29mm, compared to 27mm at the rear. This architecture prioritises grip and control at the front while maintaining an excellent level of dynamism and precision at the rear. Both rims have a particularly low profile of 20mm.

ENVE has also worked on the vertical compliance of its rims. The new shape, combined with an evolution in the carbon layup, improves compliance by over 25%, according to the brand. The goal is to better absorb impacts and successive vibrations from the terrain to improve bike control and reduce rider fatigue during long events.

The Wide Hookless Bead technology features widened rim edges specifically designed for XC. It helps to limit the risk of pinch flats when the tyre is heavily compressed against the rim.

The wheels are built around ENVE INNERDRIVE™ hubs, with 24 spokes front and rear. This version features a SRAM XD freehub body, as well as Boost standards of 15 x 110mm at the front and 12 x 148mm at the rear. Braking is compatible with Centerlock discs.
