Enjoy precise and immediately accessible training with the Elite Avanti home trainer with Zwift Cog and Click. Its pre-installed Cog makes it easy to mount bikes with 8 to 13-speed drivetrains, while the Zwift Click remote gives you access to 24 virtual gears. Its integrated power meter offers a claimed accuracy of ±1%, with a maximum power of 2,100 W and simulated gradients of up to 18%. Wi-Fi, Race Mode, and oscillating Flex Feet complete a model designed for intensive training and online competitions.
The Elite Avanti with Zwift Cog and Click arrives fully assembled and configured to simplify your first sessions. The Zwift Cog is already installed: just unfold the legs, add the adapters for your bike, attach the Click remote to the handlebars, and pair it.
This simplicity doesn't prevent it from offering advanced features. The Avanti is aimed at both regular cyclists and competitors who want to precisely track their power and participate in virtual races.
The Zwift Cog replaces the traditional cassette with a single cog. This solution allows you to install bikes equipped with 8 to 13-speed drivetrains without having to change the cassette for each use.
The chain stays on the same cog during the session. Gear changes are managed virtually in Zwift, which reduces mechanical noise and simplifies switching between bikes.
Correct chainline adjustment is still necessary for smooth operation. It may need to be readjusted when several bikes with different geometries use the same home trainer.
The Zwift Click remote can be installed on almost any handlebar. It allows you to easily switch between 24 virtual gears without using the bike's gear shifters.
The buttons can also be used to steer your avatar, navigate menus, and send Ride Ons. The main Zwift controls thus remain accessible without taking your hands off the handlebars.
Virtual shifting with Cog and Click works in Zwift. To revert to mechanical operation on some other platforms, you need to remove the Cog and install a compatible cassette.
Unlike home trainers that calculate power from other data, the Avanti has an integrated power meter. Elite claims an accuracy of ±1%, suitable for performance tracking, FTP tests, and structured workouts.
This accuracy ensures consistent data from one session to the next. However, a slight difference may exist compared to a sensor installed on the pedals or crankset, as the measurements are not taken at the same point in the drivetrain.
The Avanti performs its calibration automatically. It is therefore not necessary to regularly run a manual procedure to maintain measurement accuracy.
This feature avoids interrupting your workout and reduces the risk of completing a session with incorrect settings. It is still recommended to keep the firmware up to date and install the home trainer on a stable surface.
The electronically controlled magnetic resistance system can generate up to 2,100 W at 40 km/h. This value largely covers the needs of most cyclists, including during sprints and high-intensity sessions.
The Avanti automatically adjusts the resistance according to the application's instructions. It can thus reproduce a virtual course, maintain a power level in ERG mode, or support sessions composed of short intervals.
The home trainer can reproduce gradients of up to 18%. When a virtual road steepens, the resistance automatically increases to make the climb more realistic.
However, the difficulty level selected in Zwift influences the feel. A simulation set to 50%, for example, reduces the perceived resistance variation without changing the speed calculated by the game.
The Race Mode increases the data transmission frequency up to 10 Hz. The platform therefore receives power variations faster than with a conventional frequency.
This responsiveness is particularly useful during starts, attacks, sprints, and accelerations. It does not change the cyclist's power output, but it reduces the delay between the effort produced and its display in the application.
The Avanti can connect directly to the home Wi-Fi network in addition to Bluetooth and ANT+. Wi-Fi improves the stability of the connection and allows the home trainer to automatically search for and install its updates.
Once the network is saved, the connection is automatically re-established for subsequent uses. This solution limits repetitive steps before each session.
For esports competitions or environments where Wi-Fi lacks stability, the Avanti can use a wired connection with the Elite Gateway Wired Ethernet Dongle, sold separately.
The home trainer can then be connected directly to a router or computer to secure data transmission.
The black Flex Feet are supplied with the home trainer. They allow a total lateral oscillation of 4.5 degrees to accommodate the cyclist's natural movements.
This slight freedom prevents the bike from being completely locked on its axis and can improve comfort during long sessions. Red Flex Feet, which are softer and offer up to 7 degrees of movement, are available separately.
In ERG mode, the Avanti automatically adjusts the resistance to maintain the programmed power. The Easy Start function makes it easier to resume an interval after a short break in pedalling.
Four Power Smoothing levels can be selected in My E-Training. They change how power variations are smoothed on the screen, without altering the actual work required.
When the cyclist stops pedalling, the transmitted power decreases almost immediately. Zwift can thus detect the lack of effort more quickly and activate the Supertuck aerodynamic position when course conditions allow.
The Avanti supports Bluetooth, ANT+ FE-C, and Wi-Fi protocols. It can be controlled from a computer, smartphone, tablet, bike computer, or compatible watch.
The dual Bluetooth channel allows it to be connected to two devices simultaneously. This makes it possible to use a training app while sending data to a bike computer.
A heart rate monitor or cadence sensor can be connected to the Avanti. The home trainer then transmits their data to the application via a single ANT+ FE-C or Bluetooth FTMS connection.
This function is particularly useful with Apple TV, which limits the number of simultaneous Bluetooth connections. The Avanti can also create a virtual heart rate monitor when the sensor's protocol is not directly recognised by the application being used.
With compatible Shimano Di2 models, the lever buttons can control the resistance in standalone mode. They can also suspend the resistance for 60 seconds during a connected session.
This integration allows certain commands to be performed directly from the cockpit, without having to handle the screen or smartphone.
The Avanti can still be used without a training platform. When powered, a gradient of up to 18% can be set in advance and then maintained during the session.
Without power, it is possible to pre-select one of the 16 available resistance levels. This function is useful in case of a connection problem or when the home trainer is used far from a power outlet.
The Avanti can work with Zwift, My E-Training, MyWhoosh, Rouvy, Kinomap, and other platforms that support its communication protocols.
To use a traditional mechanical drivetrain, the Zwift Cog can be removed and replaced with a cassette suitable for the bike.
The home trainer can accommodate road bikes, gravel bikes, mountain bikes, and some city bikes. The included adapters cover frames with 5 x 130 or 135 mm quick-releases as well as frames equipped with a 12 x 142 mm thru-axle.
Optional adapters are available for 10 x 135, 12 x 135, Specialized SCS 12 x 135, Boost 12 x 148, and Super Boost 12 x 157 mm standards.
The Avanti weighs approximately 13 kg. Its integrated handle makes it easy to move, and its legs fold away when the home trainer needs to be stored.
An integrated drawer allows you to keep the adapters nearby without the risk of losing them. Once closed, the device measures 58 x 21 x 52 cm.
The Avanti can be paired with the Elite Rizer gradient and steering simulator. It also works with the Elite Aria smart fan and the Elite Square smart frame, after removing the Zwift Cog for the latter.
Elite states that the Avanti's structure contains more than 50% pre-consumer recycled plastic. The product is also designed for easy maintenance and repair.
