The Continental Grand Prix 5000 S TR 700 × 28C is aimed at cyclists looking for a fast, precise and comfortable tyre for regular use. It is suitable for sustained training, cyclosportives, competitions and triathlons.
Its 28 mm section offers an excellent compromise between the responsiveness of a narrow tyre and the comfort of a larger section. It is perfectly suited to modern road bikes and aerodynamic wheels.
The Tubeless Ready casing allows the tyre to be used without an inner tube on a compatible wheel. This setup requires a sealed rim tape, a tubeless valve and sealant. Continental recommends at least 30 ml of RevoSealant for the initial installation.
The tyre can also be fitted with a classic inner tube or a lightweight TPU inner tube. This allows each cyclist to choose their configuration according to their preferences for performance, weight and maintenance.
The BlackChili compound is designed to offer a high-performance balance between low rolling resistance, grip and longevity. It combines natural and synthetic rubbers with specially processed particles.

The Active Comfort technology is integrated into the casing to absorb some of the vibrations from the road. It helps to reduce fatigue without eliminating the sensations necessary for sporty riding.
Combined with the 28 mm section, this technology offers a good level of comfort over long distances and on roads with an uneven surface.
The 700 × 28C size is particularly suitable for modern road rims. It allows for a smooth transition between the tyre and the rim to promote aerodynamics and stability at high speed.
The actual width of the tyre may vary depending on the internal width of the rim. It is therefore necessary to check the available clearance at the frame and fork before fitting.
The Grand Prix 5000 S TR 28-622 can be used on a hooked rim or a compatible hookless rim. For a hookless setup, Continental specifies a maximum pressure of 5 bar / 72 psi and a maximum internal rim width of 23 mm.
The limits mentioned on the tyre packaging and those indicated by the wheel manufacturer must always be respected. Where several limits apply, the lowest value should be used.
The transparent sidewalls reveal the natural colour of the casing and provide a classic, high-end style. This finish contrasts with the black tread and goes particularly well with carbon wheels.
