The Continental Grand Prix 5000 S TR 700 × 32C is aimed at cyclists looking for a fast, comfortable and sufficiently durable tyre for regular use. It is suitable for sustained training as well as for cyclosportives, competitions and triathlons.
Its 32mm section provides more volume than a traditional 30 or 28mm tyre. It allows for a pressure better suited to the cyclist and the road to improve comfort, grip and control on uneven surfaces.
The Tubeless Ready casing allows the tyre to be used without an inner tube with a compatible rim, a sealed rim tape, a tubeless valve and sealant. Continental recommends at least 30 ml of RevoSealant for the initial setup.
The tyre can also be fitted with a classic inner tube or a lightweight TPU inner tube. This versatility allows you to choose the configuration best suited to your maintenance habits and your practice.
The BlackChili rubber compound is developed to achieve a high-performance balance between low rolling resistance, grip and longevity. Its formulation combines natural and synthetic rubbers with specially processed particles.
This compound promotes a feeling of speed on the flat and good traction during acceleration. It also maintains reassuring grip in corners and when the road becomes wet.
The Vectran Breaker technology is based on a lightweight and resistant synthetic fibre placed under the tread. It helps to limit punctures caused by small debris encountered on the road without excessively weighing down the tyre.
This protection allows the Grand Prix 5000 S TR to maintain a good compromise between performance, weight and puncture resistance for sporting use.
The Lazer Grip technology is a micro-profiled structure applied to the shoulders of the tyre. It extends the grip surface to the sides to improve handling when the bike is leaning.
The tyre thus offers a precise trajectory and reassuring grip in a series of corners, fast descents and changes of direction.
The Active Comfort technology is integrated into the casing to filter some of the vibrations generated by road irregularities. It helps to limit fatigue during long rides while maintaining a dynamic rolling sensation.
Combined with the 32mm section, this technology makes the tyre particularly interesting for long distances and roads with imperfect surfaces.
The Grand Prix 5000 S TR can be used on hooked tubeless rims as well as on some compatible hookless rims. The maximum authorised pressure depends on the type of rim, its internal width and the setup used.
Before installation, it is essential to consult the limits indicated on the tyre packaging and by the wheel manufacturer. The pressure must then be adapted to the cyclist's weight, the actual width of the tyre and the riding conditions.
The transparent sidewalls reveal the natural colour of the casing and provide a classic, high-end look. This finish contrasts with the black tread and goes particularly well with carbon wheels and bikes with clean lines.
