Its SHIMANO SHADOW RD+ technology stabilises the chain on rough terrain, while its long cage accepts a cassette up to 42 teeth. It thus offers a drivetrain suitable for hilly gravel routes and demanding rides.
The Shimano GRX RD-RX812 rear derailleur is designed for mechanical single-chainring gravel drivetrains. Its long cage design allows for the use of a cassette with a large 40 or 42-tooth cog, providing suitable gear ratios for routes with elevation changes.
The derailleur's integrated stabiliser limits chain movement when the bike is on uneven paths. This reduces the risk of chain drop and drivetrain noise. The system can be switched on or off depending on riding conditions.
