Choosing the right sneakers for your type of running and your body type is far from trivial. For running, the drop, the type of stride and the target distance will be the main criteria. On the road, the shoe must be adapted to your type of stride: universal or pronating. A shoe for a pronating stride will be specially designed with an internal reinforcement, to limit the tendency of the foot to collapse inwards. Drop is the difference in level between the back and the front of the shoe and the link with the cushioning is also very important: the greater the drop, the more the cushioning will have to compensate for the pressure exerted on the heel to ensure a natural run. The minimalist trend pushes some models towards a drop of 0 but most brands position themselves on an intermediate drop, adapted to the majority of runners. A trail shoe will have, in addition to the above features, a midsole to protect against the roughness of the terrain limiting pain and deformation, as well as a tear-resistant mesh.
